ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS
We try to supply you with everything you need except for your clothing and food. We do supply coffee, creamer, sweetener, salt and pepper. If you plan to grill, bring your charcoal, lighter fluid and lighter. The Lakeview Deck has the one gas grill and we do supply propane for it. All other grills are charcoal.

We have a private ramp on our property and we have use of two sides of a one slip boat dock. The boat dock belongs to Ray Williamson who is a Fishing Guide. Boat dock rental is now $15 a day and must be booked in advance. Boat trailer parking and launch fee is now $10 a day and must be booked in advance. We do carry liability insurance on his dock to protect our guests.
No, our facilities are for guest use only. We recommend Burnet County Boat Ramp for public access. Thunderbird Resort and Hi-Line Resort have a fee based access and Public Pier Access.
We do have worms for sale and poles to rent. We recommend Red Top Bait Shop on Hwy 29 for minnows. You can also net your own bait in this area as it is the most desirable location for the fishing guides to gather live bait for their chartered trips.
Yes, you must have a license to fish here and anywhere except a State Park.
The closest grocery store is in Burnet at the HEB on Hwy 29 just east of Hwy 281. There is a very nice convenience store about 1.5 miles from Painted Sky Inn called Lakeshore Convenience or lovingly referred to as the “Blue Store”. It is just across FM 2341 from Burnet County Park.
The closest restaurant is The Overlook at Canyon of the Eagles about 4 miles from Painted Sky Inn. Lakeshore Convenience serves a limited menu and is 1.5 miles from us. There a number of restaurants about 20 minutes away in Burnet or Buchanan Dam. All of our rooms have kitchens and available grills so that you can eat here.
